General Manager’s Report

Darrell Ransdell (335-7869 ex. 1756)

Security & Gate Operation – Our thanks to the Block Captains for their work in getting the Security survey out to residents. This method of distributing the survey got a high percentage response where mailing would have been much less effective.

As a result of your responses to the survey, the POA Board and Staff are making changes to operation of the West Gate and our patrols of the village. Our goal is to man the West Gate during the day and evening at all times except in an emergency situation. Patrols, of course, will be reduced. We need to rely on our neighbors and the Neighborhood Watch Program to help us be aware of activity that is unusual.

We will start issuing a Day pass to guests, restaurants patrons, and golfers at the West Gate. Contractors also will have passes to identify their workers and help us control who has access to the village. Escapes! owners and guests, along with StoneBridge Nightly Rental guests, will receive passes when the check-in for their stay.

Calls to Security can still be made to report incidents in the village, but security personnel will not be leaving the Gate unattended except in an emergency. More information will be provided as we implement changes.

POA Assessments – The Covenants provides for the Board to approve a 5% increase in the POA assessments without a vote of the members. The increase was enacted for 2007 to bring our dues to $94.07 per month beginning in January 2007. Kathy Osenga, who handles our Member Billing, will be sending out your coupons in December.

Activities Director – One of the recent changes at the POA is the addition of an Activities Director to POA staff. I was asked recently about the responsibilities of the Activities Director. The following will give you an idea of what Denise's job is all about.

The main part of her job is to provide the opportunity for residents and guests to meet others and participate in activities by helping them organize clubs, outings, dinners, dances, parties, and special events. She will coordinate the decorations, communicate to the membership, and arrange games or entertainment for the function. There will be activities to include not only residents, but owners and guests staying with Escapes! and the guests of StoneBridge Nightly Rentals.

Our Clubhouse has three meeting rooms and a business center that Denise schedules to make sure each room has the equipment and supplies needed for a successful meeting. The rooms must be set up, cleaned and ready on time for meetings. Also, important is the interaction with the guests, so they know the services and costs for their meeting or event. Often the guest's requirements must be coordinated with StoneBridge Nightly Rentals for rooms, Nichols Fine Dining for the meals, the Pro Shop for golf and the meeting rooms for business meetings. Coordinating all aspects of the visit takes knowledge of all services available at StoneBridge and providing service to meet and exceed the customer's expectations. Effective communication is key to the customer's satisfaction.

Yard Waste – The area across the lane from the Golf Course Maintenance Building is for individual residents to dispose of leaves and limbs from their yards. There is a restriction in our Rules and Regulations against all burnings within 600 yards of any structure in the village. The POA does not recommend any burning by residents due to the terrain and potential damage of a fire in our woods. Please take your leaves and tree trimmings to the designated area so maintenance can dispose of it by controlled burning. The area is only for burnable yard waste, so take your trash bags with you for reuse.

Golf Course Superintendent

Jim Pyle (417.339.2130)

Fall is probably the most beautiful time to play golf at Ledgestone. The problem it doesn't last long enough and the fallen leaves. We know how upsetting it is to lose balls in the leaves, however; be patient we will get to them as soon as possible.

I hope you will like the changes that are happening on #15. At first glance, it may look much the same, but I think it will play friendlier.

It's still not too late to overseed your cool season yards, and is a great time to use a good fertilizer such as 13-13-13 use at least a pound and up to 2 pounds per 1000 square feet, and then do it again mid to late November.

GOLF PRO

BILL HASLER (417.335.8187)

It's fall again and that means cooler weather and less daylight. Because of the likely possibility of frost delays, we will begin taking tee times no earlier than 9:00 a.m. through the winter. Pro-Shop hours changed again with daylight savings time. Our hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The GPS is working 100% and we are beginning to accept advertisers. If you know anyone who would like to advertise on our golf carts, please have them call the golf shop. Also, if you experience any trouble with a GPS system, please report the problem to the golf shop.

All golf shop credits must be used by December 31st, 2006. If you do not use your credit, you will lose it. If you have any questions about your golf shop credit, you may ask the pro-shop to print your account summary.

Architectural Control Committee (A.C.C.)

Larry Moffitt (417.334.0636)

The work activity for contractors in StoneBridge Village is from sun up to sundown. Contractor work is prohibited on Sundays and national holidays. If you hear noisy work on a construction site between sundown and sun up or on Sundays and national Holidays please contact the Security, POA office or one of the A.C.C. members.

Trash containers continue to be stored outside at some residences. All trash containers for one or two family dwelling shall be stored inside garages, basements, or fenced privacy areas adjacent to the home, which are approved by the A.C.C. Trash cans are not to remain in the driveway or on the street more than one day after trash pickup.

There have been some recent events where someone has been cutting trees in Stonebridge Village. Cutting of trees is prohibited without specific approval of the Property Owners Association. This includes trees that are already down or fallen trees near Roark Creek. If you see or hear anyone cutting trees, please notify StoneBridge Security, POA or an A.C.C member.

The ongoing landscaping and beautification program by MPI has added great aesthetic beauty to StoneBridge Village. There are those that seem to want to drive their vehicles through some of these well-manicured areas. This not only damages the grass but the irrigation piping and sprinkler heads in the area. All residents are asked to report to security, the POA office or one of the A.C.C. members anyone observed damaging these beautiful areas. The repairs are very expensive and are paid for by each and every one of us.

There are numerous residents and guests that walk their dogs. Many carry a container to pick up their animal droppings. Thank you for your courtesy. There are a few residents and guests that do not. Please, when walking your dog, be courteous to your neighbors and pick up after your animals. Walking dogs on the golf course or cart path is prohibited. When you observe someone, walking his or her dog or dogs on the golf course, notify the Pro Shop.

Advisory Committee

JIM TOMASSINI (417.348.1717)

The Advisory Committee met August 24, 2006, to discuss the change by the SBV Board of
Directors to modify our proposal for increased Security Staff at the West Gate. Consideration of our alternate security enhancement plan that included some increased Security Staff hours and overlapping shifts (so that the West Gate was always manned) was put on hold by the Board of Directors. The Board felt that a survey was needed to poll the POA members as to their priorities on the type of Security residents wanted for SBV. The General manager felt that the Board of Directors was attempting to approve a Security Plan that met as many of the residents' priorities as possible, while staying within the limitations of SBV POA budget. The task of meeting with SBV residents for survey completion fell to the area block captains. Completed surveys were returned to the POA office before the October POA Board of Directors meeting.

Angel Tree

“Tis the season in the Ozarks to deck the halls and hang the stockings (already!). It's also that time of year when we open our hearts and our hands to give to the needs of others. In that spirit, the StoneBridge Village POA is excited to announce that the Clubhouse will host an "Angel Tree." An outreach of the Salvation Army, the "Angel Tree", is an opportunity for residents and owners to provide a Christmas gift for a local needy child.

The tree has been placed in the foyer between the ProShop and the LedgeStone Grille. Simply remove an Angel from the tree, purchase the item(s) listed on the Angel and return the items by December 16, unwrapped, to the Santa sack, which is next to the tree. If you have any questions, please contact the POA Office (335-7869).

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

9’ers - Parties, Birthdays, Celebrations. . .

seemed to be the theme for October. By now the Surprise Party for our own Tim Jenkins has taken place and Mother Hen, Joan can take a break from all the weeks of planning & scheming she'd been trying to pull this off. Little did Tim know that the reason he had to make an extra trip to my van some weeks ago to retrieve my camera & pose with us was for him! We used it to make a special card for his special day. I think we overwhelmed Tim when Joan paraded him into the room and saw about a hundred golfers, neighbors, and friends waiting to surprise him that afternoon with cameras flashing. We had a huge Golf-Cart Cake with the double digits of _ _ (we won't tell) sitting on it in candles, black & white balloons hanging, a banner draped across the window, a party table set up with a bag full of cards and other more "useable" gift items. Bob Nichols staff was so very helpful (as usual) which helped make the event run smoothly and without one hitch. Renée kept Tim bolstered with tall mysterious drinks. Hmm.

We just wanted to let Tim know how much we appreciate all he does for us------and he even does it with a never ending heart-warming smile! Keep up the good work, Tim, and enjoy the pictures.

Celebration: On the 14th, for Joan & Ken it was memories of (May I have this dance for the rest of your life..." They've been married 45 years and the best part is--------oh my gosh, to each other! Partners, Friends, & Sweethearts. Now, Joan, you're free to begin the next 45 years of your usual busy bliss. Ken, you're free to spend the next 45 years finishing that lower level in your house! Wow, what a big event. Sincere wishes for happiness from all of us to both of you forever.

Party: On November 3rd, we rendezvous at Myra's for our 2nd Annual End of Season Party. Bring an appetizer and a happy face and we'll see you there. Oh, and be thinking of how to finish this sentence with something no one else knows about you; "I'll bet you didn't know that I..."

Birthdays are again on the agenda for November 14th at The Gardens where we'll be toasting 10 of our 9'ers for their September, October, November, and December birth dates. I'm not sure if we're celebrating or commiserating, but to each his own.

Scramble: At the beginning of October the 18'ers wore us out with a Scramble where we actually had to play 18 Holes! Janet got a Birdie on #15 with nothing but her own strokes and Jean P. duplicated the feat on #5. We enjoyed lunch with everyone after the workout and Betty A. extended a gracious invitation for us to join them anytime and especially for their first Tuesday of every month Scramble. An additional invitation was extended for us to join them at their End-of-Year-Awards Luncheon on October 31st. Thank you, Betty.

Game: Our very own JoAnn M. has undertaken the task of teaching a Mah Jongg class every 1st & 3rd Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Nicol's Lounge. We'll take a break for lunch, and then meet again for play til about 3:30 p.m. It's a game that is involved in a few rules, but promises to be challenging and fun. Anyone at StoneBridge is invited and encouraged to join. Just show up on Mah Jongg days and you're in!

9'ers Golf: An end of the year reminder to all StoneBridge owners & residents & off-site property owners: The Welcome Mat is always out to any lady who would like to join a Not-Too-Serious & Nine-Holes-is-Enough-For-Us fun team

That's all for this month and we'll see you on the Course in 2007.

Jeanette Douglas, 9’ers Publicity, October 2006

P.S. from Joan - Roland was offered tickets to the World Series, but he declined because his wife was going to play golf. When he told Jeanette, she responded saying this is a chance of a life time. We're going to the World Series game.
