General Manager’s Report
Darrell Ransdell (335-7869 ex. 1756)
Activities – Our activities in and around the Clubhouse are already increasing for the season as
the weather improves from a “hard” winter (winter is always hard for me). Golf is in season at
LedgeStone. As you play, you will notice several improvements made to the course this winter.
Whether you golf or not, if you would like to start a club or another activity you and others
would enjoy let Denise know about it. She will be glad to help you organize an activity or club.
We have several game days and nights and those all were started by residents who enjoy the fun
and fellowship.
Gate Security Operation – The West Gate operation has changed to provide better access to
drivers entering the property. Daily passes are in use for visitors to the restaurant, golf course,
and residences guests when they enter via the West Gate/ Main Gate. Contractors and their
employees working in the village are identified by a different color pass bearing the location of
their project. Contractor vehicles should only be at the location of their project. Delivery
vehicles that are clearly marked with the business name, such as concrete trucks, trash haulers
etc. will not receive passes as their business in the village is obvious. The West Gate will be
manned full time except for security tours of the village.
During times when the restaurant and golf operation is closed, the Gate may be closed and
unmanned for a time. Your guests will have access to the village by contacting you from the key
pad located at both gates. In addition, the Security cell phone number will be posted in the
window of the Gate House.
Road Courtesy – Please watch your speed in the village and obey warnings and stop signs. We
have a lot of construction in the village and the workers from time to time get careless. We
contact them whenever possible to request that they slow down, obey warning signs and do not
use jake brakes. Speeding or other careless driving should be reported to the Sheriff’s office for
action. Stop signs are a particular concern as the potential for an injury accident increases at
intersections. We must have a no tolerance attitude in order to protect our guests and fellow
residents. Please be sure you and your family drive defensively and drive with road courtesy.
Activities Director
Denise Needham (417.335.7869 ext. 1754)
The first day of spring is March 21st and is one of the four great seasonal changes every year.
Day and night are equal, and the changing weather can lift the spirits of young and old alike, so
get out of the winter blues and join us in some of the events listed below (GUARANTEED TO LIFT
YOUR SPIRITS!).
Our larger social gatherings will begin in April, and I’m so ready to bring us all together again.
There will be a POA events board located in the entrance of the clubhouse very soon. This events
board will list current and future activities scheduled through the year. This will provide you
early information, so you can plan to invite the family (children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren) to upcoming events like our Easter Egg Hunt… see below.
The business center located in the clubhouse is open and ready for your business. The computer
is available to view or print the newsletter/calendar of events. There are complete instructions on
how to use the computer and copier. I can show you step-by-step how to use any of these
machines.

Golf Course Superintendent
Jim Pyle (417.339.2130)
We are getting a break in the weather, which will hopefully allow us to finish our winter projects
before golf season starts.
Cedar Ridge - As the season begins, we are going to make a few changes for those of you that
live on Cedar Ridge. Yard work will begin in March with mowing beginning as needed. If you
have problems or have questions, please call 417-339-2130.
We will continue to work on some of the road edges throughout the Village, but we are not
working on ditches that are a part of someone’s yard, only the ones with green belt areas behind
them.
Golf Pro
Bill Hasler (417.335.8187)
A complete tournament schedule is available in the pro-shop. In review of the 2007 events, you
may notice that we have kept some of our major events such as The Julian and The Red Cross
Golf Tournament. We have also added a few events like the NFL Event and the First Shot
Couples Event.
The LLGA will begin league play on April 3rd at 1:00 p.m. following the Midwest Masters. This
is one of the only events I have scheduled on a Tuesday in 2007. The other event is June 12th
and has tentatively been named the LedgeStone Invitational. With the exception of those events,
none of the events I have booked on Tuesday should interfere with our ladies play.
Men’s League begins on April 4th at 9:00 a.m. Play will be preceded by an opening breakfast
beginning at 8:00 a.m. At the breakfast, we will run a raffle, introduce the staff, take a look at
2006 and talk a bit about the upcoming year. Couples league will begin the following Thursday
at 4:00 o’clock.
The date for the “Sticks & Stones Junior Golf Clinic” has been set. The clinic is Monday, July
9th through Thursday, July 13th. It will be structured the same as it was last year. I would like to
thank the Ladies Golf Association for their generous donation of $800.00 dollars to this program.
Their 2006 donation fueled the program last year and was the main reason for the clinic’s
success. Our major fundraiser, “The Lost & Found Dinner & Auction,” will take place in April
this year. Tickets for the auction are $45.00 each or $80.00 per couple. Each ticket holder will
receive a sit down dinner at Nicol’s Fine Dining, entry into the Lost & Found Auction and a
chance in the $1,000.00 cash drawing. For more information, please call Bill Hasler at 417-335-
8187.
Ladies Beginner Clinic – Sign up now for the 2007 ladies refresher clinic being held at
LedgeStone C.C. The cost is $30 per person. The clinic will run from 9:00 to 12:00 on
Thursday, March the 22nd. The clinic will cover full swing, short game, rules and fitness. The
clinic is limited to the first thirty entries. To sign-up please call 335-8187.
I know it is cold, but don’t forget to gear up for the 2007 season. It will be here before you know
it. We have grips, balls, bags, heaters, Sky Golf GPS and a large selection of long sleeve
apparel.
Rules Quiz
Hint: Trick Question
Is a snake an outside agency or a loose impediment?
Last Months Answer:The player’s score for the hole is 1.
Tips for Winter Practice:
This is the time of year that many northern golfers head to the range to beat balls for the winter
months. The truth is, hitting a lot of balls over the winter can actually hurt your game on the
course if you are practicing wrong technique and don't have goals.
The goal of winter practice is to be able to hit the course in the spring and score well.Good
practice on technique is helpful, but I suggest simulating games on the range.
To do this, you simply need a scorecard of a familiar course. After warming up, like you would
before playing a round, play the course on your scorecard. For your tee shots, pick a target area
that would be similar width to a fairway. Hit your tee shot and keep track of the distance, so you
know how many yards you have left. For your approach to the green, imagine the size of the
green and be honest about whether you would have hit it or not. If you miss, practice your chip
shots by choosing a target and trying to get your chip within five feet of the target.
To finish, give yourself a two putt unless you know you have hit it within three feet. You can
keep track of penalties, and how many balls you had to hit from the rough and judge your game
accordingly. At the end, you can keep a score or just keep track of fairways and greens hit.
This will not only help you concentrate better, but will help you focus on target and strategy. It
also slows you down between shots, so you don't get into smacking one ball after the other. Get a
partner to do this with you and get some competitive pressure as well. Some of your friends will
love this as an alternative to beating balls. When finished, you can then immediately work on
shots you had trouble with during your simulated game.
A.C.C. (Architectural Control Committee)
Larry Moffitt (417-334-0636)
The spring construction activity will begin soon. We anticipate the same level or slightly higher
activity than 2006. The work activity for contractors in StoneBridge Village is from sun up to
sundown. Contractor work is prohibited on Sundays and national holidays. If you hear noisy
work on a construction site between sundown and sun up or on Sundays and national Holidays,
please contact StoneBridge security. Contractors are required to keep their construction site clean
and street free of debris. We plan to monitor this closer this year and will recover costs as
necessary.
The spring-cleaning for homeowners will probably start soon as well. Remember, there is no
burning in StoneBridge Village within 600’ of any residence. This includes tree limbs, debris,
leaves and grass cuttings.
Also, any external remodeling, landscaping or excavation of any type needs approval of the
Architectural Control Committee. Residents may call the POA office or contact any ACC
member. The process is very simple and easy. The planting of flowers and shrubbery does not
require the ACC approval.
This is another reminder that all trash type containers must be stored in your garage or an ACC
approved storage area.
Propane tanks must be acceptably concealed from street, golf course and neighbors view. The
ACC will be happy to advise residence what is required.
There have been several for sale signs removed from lots recently as they did not meet
Stonebridge Village requirements. The sign cannot be larger than 144 square inches. The signs
should be only on the front of the property and limited to one sign. The sign shall be properly
displayed on a post and not posted on trees. Signs not meeting requirements will be removed and
stored at the maintenance building. The owner of the sign will be notified.
Ledgestone Grille & Nicol's Fine Dining
Bob Nicol (417.239.0445)
Greetings from the restaurants! It was sure nice to see so many of you in Nicol’s Fine Dining on
Valentine's Day. That was a fun way to reopen after a few weeks off. Nicol’s will be open on
Fridays & Saturdays through March, with the exception of the 17th, when we will be closed for
Renee’s and my wedding! The Grille will be open every day from 11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
beginning in March. We will extend our hours as the golf course gets busier.
Our newest addition is live entertainment in Nicol’s. Michael Kern will enhance your dining
experience with his beautiful guitar and vocal arrangements at “conversation friendly” volume
levels. Michael, most recently from Oklahoma, has entertained in many areas of the country and
abroad for several years. He plays and sings many of your old favorites, as well as, some newer
material and several originals. Please come by and enjoy Michael’s unique style of music, you
won’t be disappointed!
The following recipe for RIB ROAST works best with at least a “3 rib” roast. Pre-heat your
oven to 500 degrees. Put the roast in and cook for 5 minutes per pound. Turn off the oven and
leave for 2 hours without opening the door. Your roast will be juicy and pink!
GARDEN CLUB– BARBARA ORLE (417.339.4920)
The Garden Club is sponsoring a day in April to plant flowers at Heritage Garden. Coffee and
tea will be at the pergola – just bring flowers that will give the most on-going color. More
information will follow in the April Newsletter.
